At the age of 16, Robert Reeb, a native of Metz in the Lorraine (northeast France), began his apprenticeship under his father, Frédèric, as a third generation  pâtissier-confiseur-glacier. He worked with his parents in their Pâtisserie-Confiserie-Tea Room until he went to Switzerland to gain further experience in his craft.

In 1967 Robert met his wife, Patricia (originally from Mississippi)
in Montana-Vermala (Valais), Switzerland, where they married several years later. Two children, David and Katia, were born to them while living in Nice, France, and in 1975 they decided to move to the United States.

In 1977 they opened Maison Robert in Atlanta, Georgia, as a pastry and confection shop with a small tea room. They enjoyed a successful business for more than 17 years where a fantastic and loyal customer base constantly grew - customers who appreciated quality food and service as well as a family-owned business.

In 1995 they decided to trim the business down and concentrate primarily on making chocolates - that aspect of his profession which Robert has always preferred. Robert and Patricia worked together in a small house in North Atlanta for almost 14 years enjoying servicing customers in an open and friendly atmosphere.

Katia has now joined with Robert and Patricia in the business, becoming the fourth generation in the family of pâtissiers-confiseurs. The business has now moved to a larger and very open space in downtown Chamblee at 5256 Peachtree Road. Eventually Katia will take over the business. She has already added to the existing confections a line of pastries and breads as well as sandwiches and salads-to-go. She and Robert will also be offering classes to both young and old.
